Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Architect (NYSC / Intern) to support our team in developing innovative furniture pieces that merge form, function, and sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced furniture manufacturing environment while contributing to meaningful design work.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the design team to conceptualise and develop furniture designs that reflect the company’s brand identity and market trends.
2. Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings to effectively communicate design concepts to the manufacturing team.
3. Research emerging design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to incorporate innovative ideas into furniture designs.
4. Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing, providing technical guidance as needed.
5. Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and ergonomic and safety considerations in all designs.
6. Partner with suppliers and manufacturers to select suitable materials, finishes, and hardware, balancing cost, quality, and sustainability.
7. Participate in design review meetings, offering insights to improve designs and streamline production processes.
8. Manage project timelines to ensure design deliverables meet established deadlines.

Requirements

1. B.Sc. / OND / HND in Architecture or a related field.
2. 0 – 1 years’ experience in furniture design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino for technical drawings and 3D modelling.
4. Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail, with the ability to balance form and function in designs.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to convey design concepts effectively to cross-functional teams.
